Overall, it is obviously seen from the given illustration that number of inhibitants increase and it is forecasted that this trend will remain in the future.
Firstly, Africa and Asia represented almost same percentage of population in urban areas in 1950 ( 15 and 17 per cent) with as far as same raising trend to forecasted in 2050, 62 and 66 per cent respectively. Also, Latin America and Caribbean population is predicted to doubled in a hundred years period from 42 to 89 per cent.
North America and Oceania did not dramatically increase amount of population living in urban areas. In 1950 more than half of population lived in cities (64 and 62 per cent) as in 2007 (79 and 71 %), for 2050 is forecasted same steady increasing trend. North America and in Europe will follow this trend, when in 2050, 90 per cent of North Americans will be living in urban areas as well as Europeans (just below 90 per cent).
