This chart shows the number of people who have personal car (per thousand people) in China between 1987 and 1999.
Overall, there are significant increases along all years, expect 1993 which remained almost steadily, and also these number increased more than twelve times during period. In addition, there are two sharp increase during these years, first at the 1990, and then at the 1995.
The number of car ownership in 1990 was doubled as high as in 1987, following by it reached a little under 1000 cars per thousand people.
In the next bar, there is a marginal increase and touched 1000. In contrast, in the 1995, the number of ownership cars sharply went up twice as high as 1993.
In 1997 and 1999, trend did not changed and they are touched 3000, and 4100 cars per thousand people, respectively. In other words in the last two bars, they both increased 1000 unit per year.
