The given grapth compares the percentage of spending on different categories in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Japan in the year 2009.
Overall, while food, accomodation, and transportation made up the highest rate, medical care and fashion were much lower. It is clear that such countries spending the most on housing.
Locking at the three highest categories, the United State citizens spent over 25% of their total spending on accomodation, which was the highest rate in the chart. Following this, the figures for the United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada were around 23%, 22%, and 21%, respectively. In terms of food, this shares accounted for 23% in Japan, while this figure was 3% lower in UK. Regarding transportation, Canadians spent 20% of their total expenditure on this category, doubling this figure for Japan.
Turning to the remaining categories, medical expenses took up around 7% in the US, while Canada and Japan had nearly 4% each. Canadians spent more than 5% of their total spending on fashion, followed closely by the other countries.
