The bar chart illustrates the average number of students in a classroom of primary and secondary schools in 6 different nations in comparison to the global average in the year 2006.

Overall, the number of children was well above the world average in South Korea and Japan, while Denmark and Iceland saw a fewer number of students than the world number.

Two Southeast Asian countries had a higher number of students in their classrooms. In South Korean primary schools, there were around 34 students, while they had approximately 36 in the secondary schools, the highest number, with compared to exactly 25 and around 28 in the world respectively. The numbers of Japan were slightly lower than that of South Korea at around 29 and 34 respectively.

Classrooms were less crowded in Denmark and Iceland than rest of the world, especially in secondary schools, with around 20 students. Denmark had around 24, while Iceland had nearly 20 in primary schools. Noticeably, the UK witnessed the lowest number of students in the classes of secondary schools at around 17. In contrast, there were 30 children in Mexican secondary schools being the third most crowded secondary classes among the 6 nations.
