The figure provides data on the contributions of IT and service industries in the GDP of the UK from 1992 and 8 years after. It is clearly evident that there was an increase in the shares of both components but the IT industry grew higher over the years compared to the other.

In the first year, the IT section started with over a fifth while service industy was 4% and after 2 years both components rose by 2%. However, in 1996, there was a marginal decrease in the IT department while service industry constantly rose with 7% though it is still a little lower compared to the IT department.

The IT section sharply rose in 1998 with over a tenth compared to services with less than 8%. At the end of the period, it doubled its original value with 15%  and a considerable difference of 7% was seen between the two components.
