Overall, it can be seen that, netball and swimming were the most popular game among girls. Boys were mostly engages in soccer and other kind of sports.
To begin, in 2002, around 25% of girls played netball, compared to only 1% of boys. The percentage of boys playing soccer and girls engaged in swimming was almost the same, just below 25% and just over 20%. Approximately one-tenth of the boys enjoyed playing cricket, while for girls this was only a percent.
Secondly, the proportion of boys and girls playing basketball and tennis were almost the same, about 6 percent for girls and 8 percent for boys, respectively. Nearly 10% of the boys were engaged in martial arts, whereas, for girls, this was only around 3%. The proportion of girls engaged in athletics was higher than that of boys, at around 5% and 3%. Finally, approximately 10% more boys(19%) played other sports than girls(10%).
