The chart below shows the amount spent on six consumer goods in four European countries.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

The bar chart compares how much money was spent in several consumer items in Germany, Italy, France and Britain.

Overall, it is clear that Britain was the country that spent the most in all items, as opposed to Germany which on average spent the least. Likewise, photographic film was the item that showed the largest spending in total.

The expenditure on all these items in Britain ranged from slightly less than 160 thousand pounds sterling (on tennis racquets and personal stereos) to just over 170 (on photographic film). In contrast, German spending was in general the lowest in comparison to the rest of the countries and was almost similar in all items at about 150 thousand pounds sterling each.

As for the other countries, Italy showed higher figures than France for the expenditure on personal stereos, tennis racquets and perfumes, at roughly 150 thousand pounds sterling each. On the other hand, France spent just under 160 and over 160 on CDs and photographic film, respectively, in comparison with France that spent about 150 and bellow 160. By contrast, their expenditure on toys was the same.
