The line graph illustrates the number of three different types of crime that happened in several regions of New Port city center over the period of 10 years commencing from 2003.
It can be clearly seen that while burglary and car theft saw a decrease during 10 years, the robbery’s change was far less significant than the others. Additionally, the figure for robbery was the lowest among 3 kinds for most of the period.
In 2003, there were about 3400 burglary cases, compared with nearly 2700 cases of car theft. One year later, the number of burglaries rose and peaked at approximately 3700, followed by a rapid decline to 2200 by 2006, which was also the figure for car theft in this year. Over the remaining time of the period, burglary incidents dropped considerably to its bottom of 1200 before fluctuating around this till 2012. Car theft witnessed a similar trend, ending at about 2400 in 2012.
In the first 3 years (2003 - 2005), the quantity of people in New Port being robbed saw a slight increase of 300 from 600 cases. After that, the data for this type of crime varied moderately but kept being over 500 incidents until 2012.
