The graph illustrates the trends of crime which happened in three various areas of Newport city centre from 2003 to 2012.
Overall, the number of burglary reduced enormously year by year while the quantity of car thefts and roberries had seen minimal changes.
The number of burglary crime was 3500 in 2003 and it increased a little bit in 2004 to around 4000. However, it changed and decreased to almost 1000 from 2005 to 2008. After that the number of burglary did not see noticeably trends and remained steady.
The crime called car thefting was almost 3000 in 2003 and it had not changed till 2005. Then the number of that crime decreased gradually to 2000 in 2006. Neverthelees, after that year the quantity of car thefting began growing sharply and it reached 3000 again in 2012. In contrast, to car thefting and burglary the number of robbery had not seen dramatical changes. It was almost 530 in 2003 and the numbers were a little less than 1000 in 2005. Then it began falling till 2008. After that the quantity of that crime stayed constand enormously.
