The bar chart shows the percentage of world illiteracy among genders in six different regions in 2000.
It is clear that the rates of illiteracy among women was by far the highest in South Asia,where more than half of all females was uneducated.
According to the bar chart, the most illiteracy proportion for females was in South Asia,at 55%.
The figures for Arab States and Sub-Saharan Africa were not quite as high as that,at approximately half. The rate of ignorance in East Asia /Oceania was twice as high as Latin America/Caribbean,at 20 % compared to just over 10%,followed by Developed countries,at closely 0%. When it comes to males,the figure for Sub-Subsaharan Africa,Arab States and South Asia stood at around 30%. The proportion of uneducated men in Latin America/Caribbean was almost as high as East Asia/Oceania,at nearly 10%. Next come Developed countries where the figure reached to a low of 0%.
