The chart illustrates how much money the people in France and UK spent on 5 different categories, namely Cars, Computers, Books, Perfume and Cameras in 2010.
Overall, cars were recorded to be the top sellers in both countries while the least amount of money was spent on perfume in the UK compared to cameras in France. It is also noticeable that the significant difference between two countries was on the data for books and cameras.
About more than 400,000 pounds were spent on books in the UK, compared to only 300,000 pounds in the figure for France. This dramatic gap is also evident in the spending on cameras. The amount of cash used to purchase cameras in the UK was 350,000 pounds, far exceeding the 150,000 pounds spent in France.
On the other hand, there were only small differences between the two countries in the categories of cars, computers, and perfume. The amount of money used to purchase cars in the UK was about more than 450,000 pounds, and the figure for France was lower by 50,000 pounds, at 400,000 pounds. Similarly, spending on computers in France was slightly higher than in the UK, with amounts reaching 370,000 pounds and 350,000 pounds, respectively. While 200,000 pounds were spent on the perfume by the French, there was a shy of 150,000 pounds used to buy it in the UK, which was the least spending in goods compared to others.
