The chart below shows the number of households in the US by their annual income in 2007, 2011 and 2015.
The bar chart gives information on how the number of households, categorised by their yearly income, changed in the three years 2007, 2011, and 2015 in the United States.
Overall, throughout 8 years, households earning less than $50000 had an initial increase, followed by a minimal decline. On the contrary, households with incomes exceeding $75000 witnessed a slight decrease before rebounding with a higher number than in the beginning. However, those with middle-income ranges remained stable during this period.
Regarding those with incomes below $25000, starting from about 25 million in 2007, it then rose to nearly 29 million 4 years later and saw a decrease to about $27000. Similarly, households earning in the range of $25000 to below $50000 also had the same trend when it was roughly 27 million in 2007, increased to 30 million, then fell back to approximately $29000 in 2014. Enter those who had middle-level incomes, from $50000 to less than $75000. The number of households stayed unchanged across 8 years, from 2007 to 2015.
In terms of those who made over $75000 per year, there were nearly 15 million households earning from $75000 to $99999 in the US in 2007 and then this number declined to approximately 13 million, prior to reaching 15 million in the last year. Witnessing the same status, but to a much greater extent, beginning at about 30 million households in 2007, this group showed a small fall and then continually dominated the chart by roughly 33 million households in 2015.
