Generally, the number of travellers at LaGuardia airport almost doubled during 1995-2000. The LaGuardia visitors were moderately increasing during 1995-1997, but it then dropped for the next following two years before rising again in 2000. Showing the same pattern, the Newark airport visitors rose progressively for the first three years, then 1999 to 2000 saw a steadiness.
Comparatively, LaGuardia airport was the most visited airport in 2005 with 35 million visitors, while John F. Kennedy and Newark airport followed behind it with the total number of visitors around 27 and 18 million respectively. Then, the visitors of these three airports moderately increased in 1996 with total travellers around 40, 35, and 25 million respectively. Next, the number of visitors who were using these airports rose again in 1997, but their positions changed which John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark airport placed one, two, and three respectively with the highest number of visitors in New York City. While LaGuardia’s visitor continued to increase for the next two following years, the number of visitors of Newark airport saw a steadiness around 42 million during 1998-2000. Differently, John F. Kennedy visitors slightly reduced in 1999 to 32 million, before they climbed to 44 million in 2000.
