The bar chart illustrates the number of students who researched scientifically in both gender, in term of 6 categories, at UK university during 2009.
In all the major categories men outnumbered women except veterinary medicine that women are dominated. The gender gap was entirely evident in physics by approximately 50 number for females and 220 for males. The next term (astronomy) the proportion of men declined significantly around 80 number, although the number of women insignificantly climbed to just upper than 50 on the other hand, geology and astronomy had shown the equal number somehow.
In next 3 disciplines the number of females recovered and roughly was as equal as counterpart. Biology by 240 and 200 number former for females and latter for males, is the largest amount among the other disciplines. The gap between males and females had dropped in medicine and at veterinary medicine it had overcome.
Totally, the figure indicates the male numbers were completely dominated during 2009 and likely continued for the next year.
