The line chart presents information about female parliamentarian in some European countries between 2000 and 2012, measured in percentage (%).
In 2000, proportion of parliament female members in Germany was the highest with 33% over the other nations, and it rose slightly in 2004, at 35%. At the same period, the figures of other nations, Italy and France, increased slightly to 31% and 27% respectively, while there was a dramatic rise by 7% in the percentage of parliament female members in both Belgium and UK within 4 years.
By 2012, the portion of female working in parliament in Germany had remained a slight rise, but it had been overtaken by Italy at the end of period. 2004 to 2012 saw a significant increase in portion of France female parliamentarian, followed by UK which had risen dramatically from 9% to 23% in 2012. Rising slightly in 2008, the percentage of female parliamentarian in Belgium had recovered at 24% in 2012.
Overall, The percentage of female working as parliament member in five European countries rose significantly over the period, whereas the most remarkable rise was seen in figure of United Kingdom.
