The bar graph depicts the percentage of households owning and renting settlements in England and Wales from 1918 to 2018.
Overall, households in rented accommodation holds the highest percentage of the first four years while households in owned accommodation also holds the highest percentage of the last four-year in 9 years period. Out of 9 years period, the middle year had the same percentage of owned and rented in accommodation.
On the one hand, households in rented settlement started with the highest percentage around 78% in 1918 and then it started decreasing where households in owned settlement started with the lowest percentage about 23% in 1918 and then gradually increased as the year progressed. In 1961, households in rented and owned accommodation hold 58% and 41% respectively.
On the other hand, both rented and owned households in the settlement had the same percentage(50%) in 1971. From 1981 to 2011, owned houses lead the highest percentage when compared to a rented house. In 2011 an owned house had around 64% and the rented house had almost 37%.
