The chart below shows the percentage of people of different age groups who went to the cinema once a month or more in one European country from 2000 to 2011.
The line graph reveals the proportion of four different age groups visiting the cinema monthly or more in one specific European country over the period of seven years between 2000 and 2011.
In general, as can be seen from the graph, there was an upward trend in the proportion of all age groups in the period shown. Furthermore, people between the age of 15 and 24 witnessed a dramatic rise.
In 2000, the proportion of people between 15 and 24 years old was 16%, followed by the 7-14 age group with 10%. The figure for the 15-24 age group continually rose until 2014, then fluctuated over the remaining period, and reached 52% in 2011. The percentage of people from the youngest group fluctuated over the period, and reached a peak at 37% in 2010, fell by approximately 10% in 2011.
The figure for both the 25-35 age group and the oldest age group was within 10% in 2010. Then the proportion for those 35 years old and over was increased by 10%, slightly increasing at 12% in 2011, while those between 25 and 35 went up in the first half of the period, and fluctuated in the remaining half. In 2011, the percentage for those aged 25 to 35 was 30%.
