The chart illustrates the percentage of revenues made from seven movie genres which were most watched in US cinemas between 1995 and 2000 as the proportion of the total profits made by the US film industry for each day.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that all of the percentage of profits made by viewers who watched seven movie genres varied continuously from 1995 to 2005, with both Drama and Adventure had most significant changes. These also earned more money than the others.
To begin with, the proportion of revenues made from Drama movies stood at nearly 30 percent in 1997. This figure went down sharply to just 15 percent in 2005. Drama movies opposite trend in Adventure films, which experienced the fastest growth in profits, with peak at nearly 25 percent.
By contrast, the percentage of profits made from three movie genres, namely Thriller, Musicals and Animation remained relatively stable. They also had less money than the others, without up to 25 percent
