The bar chart gives information about an amount of money each household spending on five different products in two years 2010 and 2014 in US.
Overall, it can be clearly seen that food took up for the largest money spent on. In addition, almost products witnessed the upward trends, except for books.
In 2010, American household paid around $3600 million in buying food. This figure increased significantly to just below $4500 million in the next 4 years. In contrast, only $1000 dollar was spent on book in 2010, it was then halved to only $500 million in 2014.
Clothes category was the only product remained unchanged throughout a time period surveyed, at exactly $2500 million per household. Starting at $2000 million in the year 2010, the amount of money spent on smartphones experienced a considerable growth to about $2700 million in 2014. In terms of toiletries, there was only a slight increase between 2010 and 2014, from around $1900 to $2000 million.
