Firstly, Local fixed line calls were the highest throughout the period, increasing from 72 billions minutes in 1995 to just under 90 billions minutes in 1998 and a slight decline to below 70 billion minutes over the period.
National and international-fixed line calls rose constantly from below 40 billion minutes in 1995 to 60 billion minute in 2002. This rise is significant between 1999 and 2002 during which time the use of mobile phone doubled.
In conclusion, although local fixed line calls were still the most popular in 2002, the gap between three categories had narrowed considerably over the second half of the period.
