The bar graph illustrates the amount of time spent on three different types of phone call in the United Kingdom between 1995 and 2002.
At first glance, local phone calls took the highest number of billion minutes in the country, while mobile calls took the lowest amount of time. However, mobile lines were getting popular, especially in the early 00's.
People in the UK spent most of their time on domestic calls, which were spent for well above 70 billion minutes in 1995 and the number peaked at 90 billion minutes in 1999. Despite being the most consumed among all the other calls, callers started to spend lesser time on this kind of call as it can be seen that the number fell to more than 70 billion minutes in 2002.
On the other hand, mobile calls were the least used among callers in the UK, with less than five billion minutes being called in 1995. Yet, the total time of mobile lines increased over the years steadily. The highest amount of time calling through mobile line was around 45 billion minutes in 2002, showing the gaining popularity of mobile calling in the country.
