Overall, Petroleum and Engineered products were the two dominant exported goods. Interestingly, only Gems and Jewlery products experienced a downward trend among five given categories throughout the time.
In detail, having the highest figure (around 60 billion USD), Petroleum products witnessed a small increase of 3% in 2016. Meanwhile, the second largest export - Engineered goods with about 58 billion USD, rose significantly to approximately 63 billion in 2016. In parallel, the country recorded a 0.81% growth in Agricultural products export in 2016 compared with roughly 31 billion USD in 2015. On top of that, Textiles had a tremendous change (15.24%) in values from only 27 billion USD in 2015 although it was the least exporting goods. Over the period, the last remaining category decreased slightly from over 40 billion with a 5.18% difference in its percentage change.
To sum up, Gems and Jewlery was still three main product items out of five exporting categories playing important roles in the country despite its plunge in 2016.
