The chart illustrates distances traveled per person per week (in kilometers) in terms of 5 types of transport in the UK between 1990 and 2000
The bar chart provides information about how many kilometers one goes for a week by using each of these transports (bicycle, motorbike, air, bus, and rail) in the UK in 1990 and 2000 respectively.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the total distance increased considerably after ten years. There was a clear upward trend in the number of kilometers of air, bus, and rail, while those in bicycle and motorbike seemed to have leveled off.
In terms of the bus, the distance traveled per person per week went up slightly to above 40 kilometers in 2000, almost twice that of air. The smallest change was seen in rail, where the figure was still under 40.
The bicycle and the motorbike were no longer popular transport in 2000, compared to 1990. There were more people who preferred to travel by motorbike than a bicycle. However, both these transports were lower than 20 kilometers traveling by one person per week.
