The chart show the percentage of male and female teachers in six different types of educational setting in the UK in 2010

The bar chart demonstrate the proportion of educators in terms of gender in six educational levels, from nursery/pre-school to university. These figures were reported in the UK in the year 2010.

It is evident that women teachers outnumbered men ones regarding to lower degree. On the contrary, the percentage of male professors surpassed that of female when it come to upper levels, which are private training institute and university.

As can be seen from the chart, there was a predominance of female teachers in 3 different types of educational level. They accounted for nearly 10% in pre-school and primary school, as well as about 50% in secondary school, compared to a modest proportion of around 3%, 5% a for men teaching children in nursery and primary school.

On the other hand, in terms of higher education including college, private training institute and university, the gap between the percentage of men and women professors was narrower. There was an equal proportion of about 45% between male and female teachers in secondary school. Private training institute and university witnessed a higher percentage of male teachers with a difference of about 3% and precisely 50% respectively, compared to that of their female colleagues.
