The chart shows the number of jobs in tourism - related industries in one UK city between 1989 and 2009

The bar chart presents changes in the number of tourism jobs in one city of the UK from 1989 to 2009, namely restaurants, hotels, sports and leisure, travel and tours.

It is clear from the chart that working in restaurants and hotels were the most popular jobs while other tourism industries stood at the lowest over the period.

In 1989, the number of occupations in restaurants was over 1000. In spite of some variations, there was a significant increase in the end, at nearly 1400. Likewise, working in hotels was the second common job throughout 20 years. Although the number of jobs in hotels was higher than restaurants in 1994, this decreased considerably at 1100 in 2009.

It can be seen that sport and leisure, travel and tours were not popular choice in term of tourism fields over a 20 year period. While the sport and leisure industries employed almost 800, jobs created by travel and tours were over 400 in the end.
