The bar chart provides the data of the main reasons why African teenagers using theirs phone in over a 3-year period.
It is obvious that the youth used phones for social networks as a main cause and the percentage of teens who buy phone because of phone calls was small.
First, as we can see, the percentage of teenagers using phone for social networks decreased slightly from 2016 to 2017, but it had a moderate change from 51% to 56% between 2018 and 2019. In the same way, the percentage of digital camera was stable in 2016 and 2017, then rose somewhat at 18% in 2018 and at 20% in the end of the period.
On the contrary, the proportion of phone calls jumped from 10% to 13% in the first two years and then had a dramatic decrease to 5%. The percentage of email stayed unchanged at 15% from 2016 to 2017. However, there was a significant upward trend and it ended up at 20%.
