The two charts illustrate the different information about poportion of electrical appliances and the housework tie from 1920 to 2019. For the percentage of electrical appliances, we can see a dramatic increase of refrigerator using, followed by vacuum cleaner while washing machine slightly grew in the first 40 years before dropped in the next 20 years. From 1980 to 2019, it was an increase in washing machine consumption, however, the growing rate was only about 10%, from 60% to 70%.
While the number of electrical households marked a development in consuming, the number of housework doing decreased significantly from 50 hours to about 10 hours per week. The drop was most critical in the period of 1920 to 1960 with 30 hours weekly.
