The charts illustrate total the percentages of electrical appliances and the results on undertake housework per week in one country from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, all electricl appliances experience growing popularity over the period while the number of people who do housework per week declined steadily and dramatically in the last one hunred years.
In 1920, the number of washing machine in country stood at 40%, while the figures for refrigerator and vacuum cleaner were significant lower, at bout 30% and 1% respectively. By 2000, the number of refrigerator and vacuum cleaner had increased considerably reaching 100% and 90% respectively, both of those remained unchanged until 2020. Whereas, the figure for washing machine rose steadily, surpassing the formal midway in 1960, reaching 62% in 2019.
In contrast, the number of hours of washing clothes, preparing meals and cleaning per week had a doward trend. The number of hours of housework decrease sharply, from 50 hours per week to 20 hours between 1920 and 1960. After that, there decline was more gradual, reaching slightly above 10 hours in 2019.
