The charts compare students over different age groups in terms of purpose for studying and assist being received.
Overall, while a major proportion of young students dedicate in studying so as to pursue their career, most of old students seek enjoyment from studying. It can also be seen that employers tend to support younger students more commonly.
The under 26 group show the most significant difference in the proportion of students who decide their purpose of studying whether for career of for interest, at 80% and 10% respectively. As the age increases, the gap between two proportions becomes narrower and reaches a perfect balance at 40% when students are from 40 to 49 years old. However, this disparity is once again be seen in the last age group as an overwhelming percentage of students study for recreational purpose (70%) rather than professional intention (20%).
60% of under 26 students receive support from their employer. On the other hand, 30 to 39 years old group is the most self-sufficient as they receive the least time off and help with fees from their employers (30%). The figures rise slightly for students at their forties and over, at around 40%.
