The four pie charts compare the proportion of people working in divergent positions( manufacturing, sales and service) in towns A and B between 1960 and 2010.
It can be seen that the percentage of service workers experienced a significant increase, surpassing manufacturing to become the most common in 2010, whereas, in town B, services increased slightly. Both proportions of manufacturing workers in towns A and B decrease significantly. There is a slight decrease in sales positions in town A while the corresponding figure in town B increased slightly.
In 1960, manufacturing accounted for the most percentage with 41%. The percentage of people working in sales was relatively the same as that in service, at 29% and 30% respectively. Meanwhile, in town B, people working in manufacturing were by far the most prevalent sector (70%). The proportion of sales workers was 20% which was double higher than that of services.
In 2010, the figure for the service sector in town A increased significantly to 61%, accounted more than half of the total. Manufacturing made up 20% of the proportion of people working in town A which was 2 times lower than that of town B. The figure for sale worker in town A and town B was 16% and 22% respectively.
