The pie charts illustrate the percentage of people's sum expenditure on six goods and services, namely Housing, Food, Clothing, Travel/transport, Entertainment, Luxury goods in a European country between 1958 and 2008.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that the amount of money spending in all aspects, except clothing, changing quite substantially over the fifty years period.
In 1958, the resident spent the largest portion of their coins for food at 32%, followed by Clothing and Entertainment at 18% and 13%, respectively. Over the five decades ensuing, there has been a significant change in the way people to spend. The quantity of cash using for food decreased violently to 12%. Besides, Entertainment services also saw a double down to 6%, while this figure for Clothing just experienced a slight decrease of 2%.
Regarding the remaining three items, the sum of money was used to pay for housing stood second place with at 22%, approximately three times higher than that of Travel/transport and Luxury goods with numbers as 8% and 7%, respectively. 50 years later, each person had to pay added for housing 10%, the total of money paid for the other two categories increased to 17%, together.
