The pie charts illustrate the proportion of British students that can speak language other than English in 2000 and 2010. The unit is measured in percent.
Overall, most students can speak Spanish and in 2010, this portion rose slightly from what it had been in 2000. Unlike Spanish, French lost its popularity among the British students, while German's was unchanged. Moreover, languages other than French, Spanish, and German played more significant role in 2010 than in 2000, whereas the percentage of students who speak no other language was decreased.
With regards to the proportion of students who can speak only Spanish as their second language, it's increased from 30% in 2000 to 35% in 2010. Besides, other languages grew by 10% during that period.
On the other hand, portion of students who can speak French only decreased by 5%. Likewise, there was also a 10% decrease in the percentage of the students who could speak no other language.
