Overall, employees in town A mainly worked in the manufacturing sector while sales attracted the highest percentage in town B’s workforce.
In 1960, the sales sector in town B was far higher than town A, with 70% and 41% respectively. Conversely, the percentage of employees working in manufacturing in town A had nearly tripled the amount of town B, with 29% and 10% being recorded. Meanwhile, the services sector of town A stood at 30% and the figure of town B was 20%.
After 50 years, the manufacturing sector in town A has shown a significant rise of 64% whereas workers in town B started to become popular and resulted 25% under manufacturing industry. However, both town A and B have fallen from a popularity of sales sector, left with only 20% and 53% accordingly. Moreover, employees started to leave the services sector since 1960, the figure of town A halved to 16% remaining. In 2010, town B has levelled off with slightly acceleration of 22% recorded.
