The given climograph illustrates the average statistic of temperatures and precipitation levels within a year in urban areas of Kolkata.
Overall, May tends to be the hottest month compared to others, especially January and December, which are the coldest ones. In addition, residents in the city of Kolkata receive the highest rainfall in July and the lowest amount in the first and the last month of the year.
From Jan to May, the temperature levels rise from 200 degrees Celcius to more than 300 degrees. Simultaneously, precipitation rates increase slightly from nearly 25mm to 100mm in the first fifth months but rocket in June and July, accounting for over 250mm and 340mm respectively, two-thirds and over tripled of the former rate.
From May to the rest of the year, the temperature in Kolkata's city is prone to be cooler as the rate decreases gradually from its peak to almost the same one in January. The same change happens to the amount of rain, which drops mildly from the highest to over 240mm in September but plummets in the last 3 months (from 240mm to about 10mm).
