The figure reveals the amount of fastfood eaten by teens in Australia from 1975 and 25 years later. It is clearly seen that there was an increase in the consumption of fastfood except for fish and chips.
Initially, pizzas and hamburgers had the lowest ranking with almost only 10% but these two increased considerably over the years. Pizzas steadily grew in a 20 year period and it reached its peak in 1995 with 85% then it plateaued until 2000. Subsequently, hamburgers steeply rose and reached 86% in 1985 and steadily grew up to 100% in 2000 making it the most popular type of fastfood.
Fish and chips on the other hand, started off as the most preferred food choice with 100% but it suffered fluctuations. It fell down up to 86% in 1980 but it rose again after 5 years reaching 90% and it plummeted until 2000 with only less than 40 % making it the least popular food by teens.
