The illustrations present the stages of the life of a lady bug. It is clearly seen that it has 4 phases starting from the egg stage up to the full grown bug and its anatomical features are also revealed.
First, eggs are laid by and adult lady bird under leaves of plants or trees and they are left to hatch for 2 to 5 days. The hatched eggs become larvas and spent 21 days until they form into pupa. Cocoons are formed under side of leaves in the pupal stage which lasts for a week and an adult lady bug emerge afterwards and the cycle begins again
The lady bug has red elytra a distinguishing part that differentiate it from other insects. This is seen on its wings and black dots are also evident. Abdomen of the bug serves as its body and on each distal side are 3 legs used for crawling. Its head is connected to the body by a pronotum which is a black globular part white 2 white spots. The it also has 2 antennae and a pair of eyes.
