The diagrams illustrate the process of forming sand dunes from sand particles under the action of wind.
Overall, the process has three major stages, beginning with assembling small sand particles in the wet grounds and ending with shaping gradually sand dunes.
The process commences with the natural movement of wind on the sand terrain. Consequently, the wind makes grains of sand roll on the dry surface. Following this, if these sand particles roll on the wet ground, they are kept above the wet area to gather together. In the next stage, because of the consistent force of wind, the gathers of sand particles continue to being accumulate and the sand dune is evolved gradually.
The process continues when the first sand dune is finished. Nevertheless, the wind still does not halt rolling the sand particles, so the assembledges of sand are built continuously. Finally, as a result, there are many sand dunes are formed behind the first formation.
