The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The maps illustrate the changes to the central library during the past 20 years.Overall, the central library underwent dramatic changes, as can be seen by the reduced chairs and tables in the center of the library. However, the shelves of children's books and the reading room were replaced by the lecture room and computer room.In the north-west, the place for CDs, videos, and computer games was transformed into the shelves of children's fiction books, which can be used for storytelling events. Beyond the children's fiction books used to be the shelves of adult fiction books, but now they are the shelves of all reference books. Similarly, the reading room in the south-west today was diminished and made it to the computer room. The tables and chairs were now erected to line the center of the library from the entrance. Children's books in the north-east and the inquiry desk in the south-east were transformed into lecture rooms and cafe shops. In the middle of the lecture room and the cafe shop today is the place to put adult fiction books, an information desk, and a self-service machine, which used to be the adult non-fiction books.
