Essay topics:

The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.

The below pictorial representation illustrates the process of how electricity generates through the hydroelectric power plants. The major drawback of this system is we can only create the power during the day period.

First of all water is stored into a high level reservoir through the river. Here one valve is located in the bottom of the dam. This valve has two types of functionality during the day period keep as open and at night it is close. Furthermore, water goes down from high direction to low direction though one pipe. In this area electricity is generated due to the flow of water in the slope surface.

In addition, water rich at turbines that reversible type after all during the day, water stored in a low level reservoir and turbine during the day operates generator. Whereas, this is used at night for sending water from low to high level reservoir. As a result, power can be generated in the power station. This electricity is sent away from the station though power lines and it is used for domestic purposes and industrial levels.

Overall, the hydroelectric power plant is more costly than others because it is hard to store water at a high level as well as sending water from low to high level through pumps. Furthermore, the electricity could generate due to the flow of water.
