The diagram illustrates the production of electricity by geothermal energy. There are five different steps involved in this process.
Overall, the procedure of cold water being converted to steam and then into electricity is shown in the diagram.
Firstly, the cold water stored is pumped underground around 4.5km through a pipe into a injection well. Then the cold water is passed through hot rocks which heats the water. This passage is called Geothermal zone. The hot water is then pumped up from the production well to the condenser.
After this, the condenser converts the water into steam which is then transferred to turbine. In the last step, the steam is passed in the generater which is powered by the turbine and electricity is generated.
