The diagram illustrates information about how many books were read by men and women at Burnaby Public Library over a three-year period between 2011 and 2014. Overall, the number of books were read by women more than men in the beginning. However, the male reading figures rose sharply after that (nearly fivefold in 2014).

It can be seen that men’s reading numbers grew slightly from about 3000 to 4000 between 2011 and 2012 before climbing sharply to 10000 in 2013. Subsequently, there was a considerable increase to 14000 at the end of the period. It also the highest figure. In contrast, as regard women, the reading books numbers started at 5000 in 2011 (more than men), but there was not much improvement in the later years. The number experienced a steady upward from 8000 in 2012 to 1000 in 2013. Nevertheless, in 2014, the figure dropped back to 8000 again.
