The diagram shows how rainwater is collected for the use of drinking water in an Australian town. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features of the graph and make comparisons where relevant.
The given picture demonstrates how rainwater is harvested and then treated to be used with the purpose of drinking water.
Overall, the process of collecting rainwater for drinking comprises of 5 main stages, beginning capturing water from rain, followed by several treatment stages and ending with creating pure water for drinking inside home.
Firstly, the process commences when the water is captured and flows into the gutters. The water then runs down to the drainage pipes that are attached to the side of the house. All the drainage pipes plumb water to the system that is used to filter and eliminate contaminant substances from water. Next, the filtered water is brought to a place where to store for the purpose of long-term utilization.
From the storage tanks, the water is transferred to a treatment tank where chemicals are added to it. The water is then ready to be delivered via pipes that flow from the treatment tanks to the taps inside people’s homes.
