The picture illustrates the steps of cloning a sheep embryo.
Overall, the process needs three female sheep, and DNA of a somatic cell of a sheep is in cooperated in to an ovum of another sheep, which is then allowed to grow in the womb of third female sheep in to a cloned lamb.
First, a body cell is taken out from the sheep A, and the genetic material is then extracted. At the same time, a genital cell is obtained from the sheep B, from which the entire nucleus is removed. Afterwards, the DNA from sheep A is introduced in to the empty ova of the sheep B to form a new cell. After being fused, the new cell is allowed to proliferate in order to create an embryo in vitro. Once the embryo is formed, it is deposited in the uterus of sheep C in view of maturing it in to a lamb. Having been completed the in vivo period, the lamb, which is a clone of sheep A, is then delivered. The resulting lamb is phenotypically exactly similar to sheep A, from which it receives all the genetic details.
