The diagram depicts the process of collecting rainwater which is used for drinking in an Australian town.
Overall, there are three main steps of turning rainwater into drinking water. The process starts with containing rainwater in the drain and ends with pumping clean water into each tap.
At the first step of the process, rainwater flows into the roofs of houses which then runs down to the underground drain. After that, rain water goes through a water filter which helps to push rainwater to a storage. After being contained in a storage, rainwater runs through a pipe to be treated in another capacity where chemicals are poured into there at the same time.
At the next step of the process, drinking water is cleaned and keep going through a pipe line to be led to another drain of each house. From this drain, drinking water runs to each tap for different usages. Finally, the process keeps operating as the previous steps.
