The diagrams below show the design for a wave-energy machine and its location.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The given graphic illustrates the design for a wave-energy machine and two possibilities of placing the machine.

Overall, electricity is generated in 2 phases, and waves occur to be the main recourse of power. Moreover, it can be seen that the cost and the output are directly correlated and both determined by the equipment’s location.

Looking at the details, the device consists of 2 chambers, a turbine, and a generator. The waves coming to the first chamber arise the water level and push out the air into the second chamber. Next, the air put a turbine into motion and escapes into the atmosphere. During the ebb of the tide, a new portion of the air comes into the chambers and process repeats. As a result of the turbine spinning, electricity is produced by a generator.

Regarding the location of this machine, there are two options given. First one proposes to put the equipment offshore where high output expected, but at the same time, it also requires high installation costs. It’s possible to lower installation costs by placing the device closer to the seashore, but due to smaller waves, the lower output should be expected.
