The flow charts illustrate the process that is used to produce cement and the simple way to manufacture concrete from cement.
Overall, there are five main stages in the process of making cement beginning with crushing limestone and clay and ending with packing cement in bags. In the other hand, cement can be mixed with three other ingredients to make concrete.
Firstly, limestone and clay are put into crushers to crush into powders. These powders are then mixed in a mixer at next step before coming to rotating heater. The products released from heating are grinded under a grinder. Afterwards, cement appears. The entire cement making process concludes when cement is packed in bags.
Despite many stages of cement making, to produce concrete seems simpler. However, this process requires more ingredients to be used than manufacturing cement, including: 15% cement, 10% water, 25% sand and the balance is gravel. These elements are then mixed in a mixer to become a product named concrete. Concrete is very important to building purposes and is being used widely in building industry nowadays.
