The diagrams illustrate the process of building an igloo
The process below illustrates several steps to construct an igloo.
Overall, it is clear that the diagrams have 13 stages which begin with cutting hard-packed snow and finish by making some holes in the wall.
At the first step, hard-packed snow is cut by snow saw to form the large blocks at the base. Next, the edges of these blocks, which like cubes, are smoothed to build the base which has a round shape. At the sixth stage, the walls are dug to create a hole to make an entrance for the igloo and a block is slightly large for the last opening on top. At the eighth stage, snow is packed by the spade into all crevices or gaps between these blocks.
Then, the inside of igloo is smoothed by hand. At two final steps, the igloo is covered with snow blocks from above the hole and some holes are cut for ventilation from inside.
