Nowadays, a TV set is almost in every house, and there are many families that have more than one TV. Even though people enjoy all kinds of programs on television , they also see a diversity of advertisements. Some of those commercials are directed towards young children under the age of five. Advertisements that target young children should be prohibited. I strongly believe that television should banned advertisements which target young children for two reasons.
First of all, the brains of child is far from being mature at the age from two to five years old. Consequently, the information they receive from advertisements are not processed correctly. Moreover, at that age many kids assume that advertisements which being showed in TV are correct, so they start to imitate what they have seen on TV. For example, one day my nephew saw an advertisement on the television showed that by wearing a certain jacket he would be able to fly. A day later when his parents were in the garden, they noticed their son who was about to jump luckily his father were able to catch him before hitting the ground.
The second reason is that children are easily enticed to colorful items on media, as a result they would want to have it. When children see things they like, they ask their parents to buy it. For instance, my friend has a lovely girl who is only three years old who always wants her father to buy everything that being shown on television whether it is good or bad , and if they did not purchased it for her she will keep yelling without stopping for an hour and will disobey her father , so he always complains about this issues and the amount of money he has to spend to satisfy his daughter. Eventually, children will make this become their habit and patents will have problems neutering their children.
In conclusion, the variety of advertisements harm children and make parents illustrated, also parents should keep an eye on their kids to avoid unexpected accidents from happening. I think broadcasting companies should put an end to advertisements that target children under the age of five.
