Education levels by age rage 2010
The column chart shows the level of education of 5 age groups: 16-24 (young adults), 24-35 (adults), 35-50 (the mid-aged), 50-70 (retired) and 75+ (elderly) in 2010.
Overall, there was the highest percentage of old people who did not own any qualifications, but this age group had the lowest quantity of people having university degree and school certificate. On the other hand, three first youngest age groups experienced the opposite trend with the elderly.
There were only 9% of people from 16 to 50 years old had no qualifications. However, this gap got wider with the two older age groups, at 30% and 72% respectively.
In the opposite way, the proportion of young people and the mid-aged citizens having university degrees outnumbered that of people aged 50 to over 75, 71% (from 16-24 and 35-50) and 76% (group aged 24-35) compared to 50% of the retired group and 25% of 75+ age group. Furthermore, there was the lowest percentage of elderly people earning school certificate, whereas that of adults group was 5 timer higher than the oldest age group, and other age groups were 5% more than the group aged 24-35, at 20%.
