The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

There are two pie charts, the first shows the various usages of electricity by Australian household and the second one shows the emissions of greenhouse gas.

It can be noticed that the major consumption of energy goes to heating and water heating ( 42% and 30% respectively). Other appliances account for 15% of the total energy consumption. The least energy is used for cooling (2%) and lighting (4%). There is 7% consumed by refrigeration which is slightly more than that of cooling and lighting combined.

It is clear that more than half of the greenhouse gas emissions is produced by only two categories, water heating ( 32% ) and other appliances (28%). The emission generated by Heating and refrigeration is almost euqal (15%). Cooling and lighting hasThe lowest gas emissions ( 3% and 8% respectively )

In summary, The emissions that were produced was almost the double of the energy used in the various fields, except for heating and water heating .
